Why is the sea level rising?

The aim of this project was to investigate why the sea level is rising. With this research we found out that the sea is rising slowly, but it is rising and that if we don’t change things it will continue to rise. We interviewed two locals on the beach: La casa Isabel and PANS & company, and we also interviewed strangers on the beach. When we saw all their answers we realised that people think that this happens because we throw a lot of waste into the sea or because we pollute. We have also noticed that there are people who don’t give it much importance by commenting their concern only about whether the beach bars will continue or not.
In general we have seen that there are many people who are not informed about what is really going on.

El objetivo de este proyecto era investigar sobre por qué sube el nivel del mar. Con esta investigación nos hemos informado que el mar sube de manera lenta, pero sube y que si no cambiamos las cosas seguirá subiendo. Entrevistamos a dos locales de la playa: La casa Isabel y PANS & company, y también entrevistamos personas desconocidas por la playa. Al ver todas sus respuestas nos dimos cuenta de que la gente cree que esto pasa porque tiramos muchos residuos al mar o porque contaminamos. También hemos notado que hay gente que no le da mucha importancia al comentar su preocupación solo sobre si los chiringuitos de playa continuarán o no.
En general hemos visto que hay mucha gente que no está informada de lo que realmente está pasando.

Hemos observado que dependiendo de cómo actuemos podemos tener diferentes escenarios o RPC. Finalmente, como conclusión tenemos que informar a la gente de lo que pasa porque ahora no es un problema visible, pero dentro de unos años sí y no habrá solución.

El nivel del mar está subiendo muy poco a poco, casi ni lo notamos, pero en 2040 habrá subido 20cm. Por parte de la gente, hemos notado en las entrevistas que no le dan la suficiente importancia a esto porque actualmente no les afecta, y están muy desinformados. Muchos tienen ideas erróneas.
Lo mejor sería informar a todo el mundo y poner soluciones colectivas para que no siga aumentando el nivel del mar.
Para llegar a esta conclusión hemos observado diferentes escenarios sobre cómo va subiendo el nivel del mar a lo largo de estos años. Y efectivamente, en el año 2040, gran parte de la costa valenciana quedará sumergido bajo agua. Esto no solo afecta a Valencia, sino que es un problema global por lo que podrían quedar sumergidos ciudades costeras y playas.
Observando a esta imagen sacaríamos la conclusión de que la costa valenciana en un futuro próximo quedaría sumergida bajo el mar, por ejemplo la Albufera de València, los expertos insinúan de que de aquí a 2050 esta Albufera querdaría sumergida, cosa que afectaría a la flora y a la fauna.

Nuestro objetivo para la campaña es visibilizar el problema que tenemos en València (aunque es un problema global). Hemos empezado diseñando carteles. Para impulsar su efecto, hemos redactado una nota de prensa para informar a los medios de comunicación locales con el objetivo de conseguir que nuestra campaña llegue a la mayor cantidad de gente posible.
