Project title: Tropical diseases in western Andalusia

Research question

We have read that cases of tropical diseases are increasing in western Andalusia. Is it true that this increase is taking place? Would this phenomenon be related to the increase in average temperature?

Summary of the project

Main results and Conclusions
Poster of our research (in Spanish)

Global warming is changing migratory routes and now there are new species that are acclimatizing to our area.
There is a direct relationship between a greater presence of the tiger mosquito and the increase in cases of Dengue and Zika.
We must monitor the evolution of these tropical diseases in Spain.

What’s Next? Actions to make a difference and help lessen the problem

We will show the results to the educational community, participating in a science fair.
We will study the evolution of tropical diseases.
