Project title: Traffic in Favoriten and around Verteilerkreis

How many cars are driving through Verteilerkreis in Favoriten, how big is the problem with traffic in our district and what has changed in the last years in Vienna?

We went every Wednesday and Saturday to count vehicles. We counted every week from the 25th of February till the 25th of March for 1 hour at the Verteiler Kreis. We counted at different places, with Kerem and Luca counting at Burger King, Yasin and Ömer at the FH-Campus and Albrim at the exit of the A23 Freeway.
With the help of Asfinag, we compared the daily vehicle data from the years 2016 and 2022. We observed that the number of vehicles has significantly became less since 2016 at the Verteilerkreis. One of the reasons for this is the completion of FH Campus and the Generali Arena in the year 2020. Additionally, in 2019, a parking lot was built in the Generali Arena area where there used to be a large meadow landscape.

Our guess is that the number of vehicles dropped significantly because of Covid-19.
We made comparisons of the Verteilerkreis with old satellite pictures from the years 2017, 2019, and 2021, to see if there are many differences per year.
We realized, that a lot of buildings were constructed at the Verteilerkreis.

We are going to publish our results in school and we are going to inform parents, family and friends.
