Oxygen is very important for life. Atmospheric air is vital not only for humans but for all living organisms. Poor air quality harms human health, the natural environment and causes great economic losses. Air pollution is a very important problem in urban areas and large cities. The same happens in the urban area of Volos, in our city. The size of particles, their chemical composition and their coexistence with other pollutants are decisive factors for environmental pollution and human health. According to the European Environment Agency, the burden on human health is influenced by the area of residence, population density, existing ventilation, and the duration of exposure to particulate matter. We placed meteorological stations measuring climate parameters in different parts of the city of Volos and focused on school buildings where the stations will be accessible to everyone so that students and teachers can become the representatives of the project in the community. Also near the schools there are parks and green areas so we saw the correlation of temperature, humidity , wind speed and wind direction how it affects particulate matter. We created a measuring station with arduino and sensors for temperature, humidity, anemometer, rain sensor and dust sensor. We measured the parameters in parallel with the accredited stations we had installed to determine the accuracy and validity of the measurements.

We tried to measure meteorological parameters in our city and create our own measuring station with arduino and sensors.
