In our project we explain one of our country’s problems: the large amount of water spent on agriculture, which has been contributing to the risk of drought. We show its evolution over the years, the solutions we have found and we compare Portugal with other countries that have already adhered to technology to reduce water expenditure. Portugal suffers a lot from droughts, not only due to natural factors but also of anthropic origin. Droughts are the prolonged lack of water supply whether atmospheric, surface or underground. In the Algarve we have a lot of agriculture that needs a lot of water, we can not leave agriculture aside, but we must reduce the use of water and change the agricultural model.
No nosso projeto explicamos um dos problemas do nosso país: A grande quantidade de água gasta na agricultura, que tem vindo a contribuir para o risco de seca. Mostramos a evolução da mesma ao longo dos anos, as soluções encontradas por nós e comparamos Portugal com outros países que já aderiram à tecnologia para reduzir o gasto de água. Portugal sofre muito de secas, não só devido a fatores naturais mas também de origem antrópica. As secas são a falta prolongada no abastecimento de água sejam atmosféricas, superficiais ou subterrâneas. No Algarve temos muita agricultura que necessita de muita água, não podemos deixar a agricultura de parte, porém temos reduzir o gasto de água e alterar o modelo agrícola.

A conclusão que tiramos é que ao longo dos anos as secas têm vindo a aumentar não só por origem natural por ação humana, com um grande peso de gasto de água na agricultura.

O grupo encontrou algumas soluções para reduzir as secas em Portugal, como: Sistema de rega inteligente, a mudança de produtos agrícolas que resistam com pouca água e o water seer , um sistema de condensação capaz de captar água pura através da humidade do ar, que funciona através de energia eólica e energia solar. É um processo simples, não precisa de muita manutenção, relativamente barato e é possível captar cerca de 40l por dia, porém tem uma captação reduzida.
