Research question

Disappearance and retreat of ice and glaciers in the Sierra Nevada.

Summary of the project
Summary of the introduction to the project, with some photos that show the causes that have pushed to do this research.

Disappearance and retreat of ice and glaciers in the Sierra Nevada due to the increase in temperatures in recent years and how this has affected the population as well as the flora and fauna of the area.

Main results and Conclusions
Main data, images and graphs that have led to the conclusion of the degradation of Sierra Nevada.

With the help of satellite images, the degradation suffered in the Sierra Nevada snow cover in recent decades has been verified. In addition to the images, temperature measurements provided by nearby resorts have been used, as well as historical information provided by the ski resort.
All this has been used to explain the variation in the flora of the natural park.

What’s Next? Actions to make a difference and help lessen the problem
Main actions to be carried out to make possible the conservation of the Sierra Nevada National Park.

It is difficult to talk about actions to take, since there is no way to reverse climate change or the already lost glaciers, flora and fauna. However, some of the solutions have been investigated to make the activities carried out in the environment more sustainable without the economic activity suffering too much. These include advanced techniques for snow conservation as well as reforestation and reintroduction of extinct plant species.
