Climate Detectives Projects 2022-2023
Project title: Estudio del Lucio de los ánsares

We tried to find a correlation between climatic elements and the surface of the lake of the geese in the Doñana National Park.
We have been measuring the surface of the lake for six years using the EO Browser website. We have also used climatic data obtained from the State Meteorological Agency, such as rainfall in the provinces of Seville and Huelva, rainfall in the Guadalquivir river basin to find a correlation between these climatic elements and the surface of the lake.
We have carried out a parallel study to the main study that consisted of seeing the evolution of average temperatures over six years in the provinces of Andalusia (Spain).
Unfortunately we have not found a correlation between the selected climatic elements and the surface.
Perhaps data from more localized climatic elements (near the lake) should have been found, or perhaps human factors influence the lack of correlation between climatic elements and water collected in the lake.
For future studies we will try to collect climatic data close to the lake, mainly precipitation in the vicinity.
Projects are created by the teams and they take the full responsibility of the shared data.
