Why is the Duero River drying so quickly?
Summary of the project
The project consists in the analysis of the precipitations in the 12 months of the year during 30 years. We have searched all this data and we have made graphics in excel to see the variations in the precipitations in Toro and relate it to the amount of water in the Duero River.
Main results and Conclusions
The results are that over the time, the precipitations are not decreasing in our town, so the reasons why the Duero River has less water should be different.
Anyway, the Duero river has less water than years ago, so if the global climate change continues increasing the Duero River may dry because since each year that passes decreases the level of water that carries.
What’s Next? Actions to help lessen the problem
One of the things that we can do to stop this is to reduce de emission of gasses, use electric cars, use the public transport, reduce the consumption of unnecessary water and since the water is scarcer, we must try not to pollute the rivers so that their water is clean.
