Projekto santrauka

– We cultivated plants of three different species: hanging baskets, marigolds and grass.
– We divided every species in 3 groups.
-one group we watered every day,
– one group three times a week,
– one group every two weeks.

– Explanation: The optimal amount of precipitation for a particular plant may differ from the amount of precipitation required for another plant. From this we saw how this varies within species, and which plants can strongly withstand climate change. An average amount of rain of 220 ml falls on a plant per rain shower, we have reduced this to 175 ml of precipitation per plant (110 ml: grass). We want to use satellite images to indicate the evolution of the vegetation. We will compare the vegetation from 2016 and 2023. In addition, we will also compare the photosynthesis of 2016 with that of 2023, in order to link this to the amount of vegetation.

Pagrindiniai rezultatai ir išvados

– Results after week 1: The plants started developing around the sixth day. Some plants have already grown a lot and others less.
– Extensive result after week 1: There is a strong difference in growth between the two species. The hanging baskets have optimal growth than the marigolds.
– Part decision: The plants that are watered three times a week have stronger growth.
– Results after week 2: Both the hanging baskets and the marigolds are growing strongly, but there is a slight difference between the two plant types.
– Extensive result after week 2: There is a strong difference in growth between the two species. The hanging baskets have optimal growth than the marigolds.
– Part decision: The plants and the grass that are watered three times a week have stronger growth.
– Satellite images: The average photosynthesis in 2016 was higher than in 2023. This means that the plants grew better and there was therefore more vegetation. If we compare the vegetation, we can conclude that there was more vegetation in 2016 than in 2023.

Kas toliau? Veiksmai, kurie padės pakeisti situaciją ir sumažinti problemą

– Humans are causing an increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which increases the greenhouse effect.
– When there are more greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are present, more heat radiated by the Earth remains in the atmosphere and more heat is radiated back to the earth.
– The effect of this is that temperatures worldwide are increasing. This leads to heavy rain showers and extreme precipitation which in turn leads to the death of various plants. To stop this, we need to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. We can do this, for example, by driving more electrically or using more solar panels.
– What action can we take? We can take steps to protect water resources and encourage others to do the same. Reducing water consumption can aid in the prevention of flooding and the conservation of water resources. The adoption of environmentally conscious behaviors is imperative. Reduce plastic use to keep waterways clear and involve teens in local cleanups to reduce pollution. Together we can work for a healthier environment.
