How can the EcoOffSetMarket system effectively incentivize forest owners to participate in sustainable forest management, create a market for CO2 coupons, and contribute significantly to global efforts in reducing CO2 emissions?
The chosen environmental challenge focuses on excessive carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Our innovative project, EcoOffSetMarket, addresses the urgent need to combat global CO2 emissions by establishing a system that enables forest owners to generate and sell CO2 coupons to high-emission companies. The current global issue involves deforestation being more profitable than preserving forests for sustainable CO2 removal. Our solution aims to shift the balance towards environmentally friendly practices. Excessive greenhouse gas emissions have harmful effects on living beings and impact the ozone layer, emphasizing the urgency of our approach to tackling this global challenge.
