In the warm season, birds easily find food, both of plant and animal origin – insects, mollusks, amphibians, and reptiles. In the cold period, the lack of food contributes to the development of two strategies in the world of birds: some of them migrate, and others choose to stay and adapt to the existing conditions. During the cold period, birds change the type of food consumed and turn to seeds and fruits, and these resources become more and more difficult to access. Worse for the birds, extremely low temperatures also occur, when maintaining body temperature requires a lot of energy. That’s exactly why the children thought they had to help them.
