Atividade: Garlands with bird food

In the warm season, birds easily find food, both of plant and animal origin – insects, mollusks, amphibians and reptiles. During the cold season, food resources are reduced, and birds that do not migrate adapt to the existing conditions: they change the type of food consumed and turn to seeds and fruits.
With the cold temperatures and the coming of snow, these resources are becoming more and more difficult to access. That’s why the children made garlands with bird food. Then they placed them in the trees in the high school yard.
They learned that the recommended feeding period is November to April, but weather conditions must also be taken into account. Feeding must be continuous. Feeders are fed in the afternoon or evening so that hungry birds have food resources early in the morning.
